All Remote Pilots in Command and Visual Observers will be required to be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under 14 CFR Part 107 and possess a Remote Pilot Airman Certificate.
NM UAS has 10 UAV pilots that are FAA Part 107 certified, are licensed thermographers, and are trained to collect survey quality mapping data, in addition to familiarization with the rules and responsibilities described in 14 CFR 91 as it relates to UAS flight operations.
NM UAS is a division of Lasen Inc, established in 1989 in Las Cruces, NM. Lasen owns a fleet of six Bell 206 helicopters that deploy Lasen's proprietary LiDAR Methane sensor. NM UAS full access to the resources, training, and experience that Lasen has acquired collecting aerial GIS data since 2004.

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is one of the best indices for evaluating crop health and NIR sensors are necessary to measure it. NDVI mathematically compares red and NIR light signals to help differentiate a plant from a non-plant and a healthy plant from a sick plant.
